Float Trips

Float trips are offered year round. All float trips are full day trips lasting 6 to 8 hours depending on the time of year and water conditions. Floats offer a different perspective to the fly fishing world. Not only will the angler get to pursue there catch from the luxury of a raft or drift boat, but will cover more water in a day and breathtaking views behind every bend in the system. Fishing from a boat can be rewarding and is a great time to try those long casts we love to make in those narrow freestone streams.Water levels and the time of year will help the angler determine what species they want to pursue.

Striper fishing is a great Spring float option. Ranging from 5-20 lbs these fish pull hard, and will be a fish to remember after seeing one. Arms will be sore by the end of the day, but that’s a good thing.

Small Mouth Bass can be caught year round, but spring to late summer is when it can be “lights out fishing”. These fish pull hard and will have an anglers forearm sore by the end of a good day. Trout can be caught year round depending on water levels in the area.

The tailwaters in Tennessee is another option for the angler wanting to target trout out of a boat. These rivers consist of 1000’s of fish a mile, that require great drifts by the angler. Some very large Wild Fish are in these systems, and we love to chase them on tiny bugs and light tippet.

Then in the dead of winter on the ugliest of days (for some) we offer floats for the elusive toothy critter we call a Musky. Some have heard the stories and never seen one in person. But for the ones who have will tell you the pain of throwing huge flies on heavy test is all worth it when the “magic happens”.
